Watched a guy torque a prop blade bolt to the wrong spec because he read the chart upside down
Last Tuesday in the hangar at Van Nuys a newer guy was doing a prop torque check and pulled 40 foot pounds when the manual clearly called for 40 inch pounds. I caught it before he signed off because I happened to glance at his wrench setting and it looked way too high for a 1/2 inch bolt. How many of you double check the units on the torque chart before you even pick up the wrench?

That 40 inch pound spec is only like 3.3 foot pounds, which is barely snug on a half inch bolt.
