PSA: My old habit with torque wrenches almost cost us big.

I used to skip the calibration check on my torque wrench. Now I see how that tiny step prevents major failures.

Come on, that calibration step is total overkill for most home projects! Those tools are built tough and a tiny margin of error won't make or break a wheel bolt. Honestly, skipping it has saved me time for years with zero issues.

Ever think about how small errors add up over regular use? That tiny margin can slowly wear parts down instead of breaking them right away. It might not cause a sudden problem but could make things fail way sooner.

You ever tighten a bolt only to hear that scary creak? I see @barbara_green's point about saving time, but my bike handlebars came loose once because I skipped calibration. The stem bolt sheared from being over-torqued. Now I always do a quick check before important jobs.
