I had to choose between frozen fries and fresh potatoes for my air fryer.
Went with fresh russets, cut them myself. Took 20 minutes at 400 degrees and they were way crispier than any bagged stuff. Anyone got a good seasoning mix besides just salt and pepper?

You mentioning russets took me back. My grandma would only use russets for her home fries, swore the starch was different. She had this old tin of paprika that seemed to last forever, and she'd mix it with garlic powder and a pinch of cayenne. I tried it once with onion powder instead of garlic and it just wasn't the same. It's funny how a simple potato can hold so much memory.
