My smart fridge tried to order 12 gallons of milk after a power flicker in Denver
I was at home during a quick storm last week when the lights blinked off and on for a second. When the power came back, my fridge's AI grocery list feature reset and decided we needed a huge milk supply. Has anyone else had a kitchen gadget go a bit crazy after a simple power hiccup?

Oh man, my smart plug did something like that. I just unplugged the fridge for a minute to do a full restart, that cleared its weird memory.

Wait you unplugged the FRIDGE? I mean, I get restarting a router or something, but the whole fridge? I'd be so stressed about all my food going bad. Did everything stay cold enough? That just seems like a wild move to me, idk.

I unplugged my fridge for a solid five minutes once to clean behind it and nothing spoiled. The ice cream got a little soft but that was about it. If it's just a minute or two like @kelly_ramirez96 said, the cold air doesn't really have time to escape. People act like the whole thing turns into a warm garbage can the second the power cuts. You could probably leave it unplugged for a good while before anything actually goes bad.
