A fermenting jar of pickles became our unofficial team mascot

Our project lead got into home pickling and brought a huge jar to keep on his desk for 'inspiration'. After a few days, it started making these loud gurgling noises during quiet moments. Everyone would jump, then laugh, especially when it bubbled over during a video call with clients. Management sent a memo about 'distracting organic decor' but nobody cared. We even started placing bets on when the next big burp would happen. It finally leaked all over some important papers, which ended the fun. Now the jar lives in the break room, but we still miss its weird company. That thing had more personality than half our meetings.
