Went back to a show I hated 15 years ago and now it's my comfort watch

I tried Firefly back in 2009 and gave up after two episodes because the pacing felt too janky and the dialogue seemed try-hard. Then last month my younger brother kept quoting it during our move across Austin, so I gave it another shot on a rainy Saturday and suddenly I couldn't stop. Has anyone else flipped on a show after years of writing it off, and what made you give it a second chance?

Janky pacing? Firefly was always solid, maybe you just weren't ready for it back then.
