3 years of dry erase marker erasers, then a felt tip pen fix clicked

Last month my buddy Sam in Portland showed me his trick of coloring over stubborn board game tokens with a dry erase marker to lift the old ink, and after three years of buying replacement erasers that never worked, that one weird tip from his gaming mat finally convinced me to just use a cheap whiteboard marker on my battered Gloomhaven health dials, what other weird writing tool fixes have you guys found for worn out components?

Never thought a whiteboard marker would be my go to for board games, but honestly it's a game changer. I used to swear by those special eraser sets, wasted so much money on them. The dry erase trick works way better on my worn out Scythe pieces, the old ink just lifts right off without scratching anything. Now I keep a pack of cheap markers in my board game box for touch ups, best thing ever.
