Why does nobody question the "fun" of 24/7 Halo 2 customs?

Last month I joined a revived clan for a 6 hour marathon on Lockout and honestly, half the lobby was just two guys spawn camping with sniper rifles. I called it out and got told to 'get good', but I left and started my own server with a 3 cap rule on kills. Has anyone else ditched the sweaty meta to just go back to silly rocket launcher only nights?

Man, the real problem is nobody talks about how 24/7 customs turned into a job interview simulator. Like, you gotta prove you can land a perfect no-scope from the Sniper Tower before you even get to joke around. I remember when the fun was figuring out glitch spots on Ascension together, not sweating over who gets the most kills in five minutes. The 3 cap rule thing is smart, but honestly, forcing a rocket launcher only night is just trading one meta for another. What really killed the vibe is when clans started recording clips for montages, cause then everyone plays scared and safe instead of dumb and loud.
