My Etsy conversion rate doubled after I switched product photos to lifestyle shots, anyone track that metric?

I went from 1.2% to 2.4% over 3 weeks just by showing my ceramic mugs on a kitchen counter instead of a white background, has anyone else seen that big a jump from simple image changes?

...which is funny because I spent a whole weekend staging those shots and my cat knocked the mug over twice. Guess the mess added realism though, right?
