Found a punk 7" with the wrong band's photo glued on the sleeve

Grabbed a $3 single at a garage sale in Tulsa last month, the label said The Clash but the cover photo was clearly some local band from 1981. I spun it anyway and it turned out to be a killer demo that never got a proper release, so I kept the misprint as-is. Anyone else ever end up happier with the mistake than the real thing?

Found a sealed copy of a punk compilation at a flea market that had the wrong tracklist printed on the back. The songs listed were all classics, but the actual record was some church choir singalong from 1974. Kept it just because the confusion made me laugh every time I pulled it out. Mistakes like that are usually worth more than the clean version.

Read a zine once that said some label in the 70s ran out of proper sleeves and just grabbed whatever was lying around, so these accidents are almost a whole genre of their own. Your find sounds like a better payoff than the original ever was.
