Appreciation post: Tree rings made me rethink the Lost Colony mystery

I saw a study showing a bad drought when they disappeared. Now I think they just moved to live.

Ever check the closest spring line? If the well went dry, they'd follow water. Look at old maps for creek bends, not just the fort site. People don't vanish, they walk to where the food and water is.

But a bad drought doesn't explain why every single person vanished without a trace.

Right?? I saw a whole town out west that just had empty houses with plates still on tables. Super weird stuff.
