Looking through my old hard drive from 3 years ago was a trip

Last week, I was digging for a file and found a folder labeled 'inspiration' from when I lived in Phoenix. It was full of these super clean, minimalist logos I saved back then. Just last month, I started a new project and my mood board is all messy, textured stuff with wild colors. The shift from wanting everything neat to loving the rough edges is pretty wild to see laid out like that. Anyone else notice their whole taste in design doing a complete 180 over a few years?

Found my old sketchbooks from art school and almost died laughing. My whole portfolio back then was this super tight, technical line work, and now I can't draw a straight line to save my life. It's all loose and scribbly now. Guess my hand just got tired of trying to be perfect all the time.

Honestly, I read this thing about how a lot of artists' styles get looser as they get older. It said it's not just skill fading, it's more like you know the rules so well you can start breaking them on purpose. Your hand isn't tired, it's just confident enough to scribble.

Yeah, it's like @evanh27 said, we all just get tired of trying to be perfect.
