I just realized I've been using the same three fonts for every project for the last two years.
It hit me when I was showing my portfolio to a friend and she said, 'Wow, you really like that one, huh?' I looked and every single piece, from a cafe menu to a concert poster, used the same typeface combo. I guess I got stuck in a safe zone after a client in Milwaukee loved that look once. Has anyone else gotten stuck in a font rut and how did you break out of it?

Honestly, that's a Milwaukee client, not a design rule. Tbh, just pick a random new font for your next thing and force yourself to use it.

Pick a random new font" is how I ended up using Comic Sans on a law firm's draft homepage last week. It really forces you to learn, mostly through pure panic. I still get cold sweats thinking about it.
