My city just made laminated glass a must for all street-level windows. Half the guys here say it's smart, half say it's a pain. What's your call?

Laminated glass everywhere? That's... I can't believe they didn't think about what happens next. @harper_hernandez brought up cost, and that's just part of it. What about old buildings or small shops having a tough time already? This rule seems rushed and not thought out... like a lot of city plans these days.

Wait, hang on. They really did not think about old buildings at all? That's wild. I live in a part of town with mostly historic homes, and the rules there are crazy strict about changing the look. You can't just swap out original windows for new laminated ones without a whole big fight. This feels like the city made a rule for new glass boxes downtown and forgot the rest of us. That's a huge oversight and just asking for legal messes.
