Colored dots on rocks kept my kids from mixing up their collections

I put different color stickers on rocks we find during our weekend walks. Now each kid knows which ones are theirs without any arguments. It makes identifying and storing them much easier for everyone.

I used to think stuff like that was overkill, like just let the kids figure it out. But my kids had a huge fight last year when their favorite rocks got mixed up in one box. The whole "identifying and storing them much easier" part is so true, it saves a ton of time. I guess a simple dot is better than a big argument.
