Flea market telescope beat my $300 department store one
Picked up a battered 6-inch reflector for $40 at a flea market outside Tucson last month. It needed a new eyepiece, but the views of Jupiter blow away that brand new scope I bought at a big box store for 10 times the money. Anyone else find real astronomy gear hiding in junk piles instead of paying retail?

Found a decent Orion dob at a yard sale for twenty bucks... fixed the focuser and never looked back.
