A $2 hand mixer outlasted my $80 one
Picked up a beat-up Sunbeam at a church sale in Tulsa for 2 bucks, figured it was a throwaway. That thing has whipped more frosting than my fancy KitchenAid ever did, the motor sounds like a dying bee but it just keeps going. Anyone else got a junk find that turned out to be the workhorse?

and honestly that tracks with every old tool Ive ever picked up at a garage sale, my grandma's 1970s toaster still makes perfect toast while my fancy new one burned the first bagel I put in it. those old appliances were built with way fewer parts that could break, just a hunk of metal and a simple motor that refuses to quit. I'd take a beat up vintage find over the shiny new stuff any day, it's like they knew how to make things last back then.
