Question about the battery life on my old tablet after a simple fix

My kid's 4 year old tablet went from barely lasting an hour to getting through a whole movie after I replaced the battery myself. The kit was $25 and took about 15 minutes, but I was nervous I'd break the screen. Has anyone else tried this on an older Samsung model and had it work out?

Totally agree with what you're saying here. Did the same thing with my wife's old laptop last year, it was basically a fancy paperweight that needed to be plugged in all the time. Swapped the battery for forty bucks and it runs fine for basic stuff now. These companies absolutely bank on us being too intimidated to try the fix ourselves. Feels good to win one against the planned obsolescence game for a change, doesn't it?

And that right there is the whole game. They make you think the thing is dead so you go buy a new one, but half the time it's just a cheap battery. How many perfectly good gadgets get thrown out because people are scared to open them up or don't know they can fix them? It's not just tablets, it's everything now. You did the right thing, saved a ton of money and kept some e-waste out of a landfill. Makes you wonder what else we're just tossing that has an easy fix, doesn't it?
