I offered a 'pay what you want' day for my web design work

I put it on my site for 24 hours, thinking maybe I'd get a few small jobs and some good vibes, but one guy sent me $5 for a full site mockup and then asked for 12 revisions. Learned that setting a clear floor price, even a tiny one, saves your sanity. Has anyone else tried a flexible pricing model that totally backfired?

Yeah, the "pay what you want" thing is so tricky. I mean, @harris.ray, it reminds me of when I tried a "name your price" for some old prints I was selling. Someone offered me a dollar and wanted it framed and shipped, which just killed the whole idea for me. Setting any kind of minimum is basically a must.

What floor price finally worked for you?

People always assume the lowest price will work but it really doesn't.
