That $60 'floral foam alternative' I bought online was literally just a brick of biodegradable packing peanuts glued together

I dropped it in the bucket and it dissolved into a pile of slimy goo within 20 minutes, so has anyone else had better luck with those chicken wire cages for heavy arrangements?

Oh I've been down that road too, bought some "eco-friendly" foam alternative that cost a fortune and turned to green slime in thirty seconds flat (okay maybe five minutes but same difference). Chicken wire cages are actually pretty solid if you don't mind spending ten minutes wrestling with wire cutters and stabbing yourself in the thumb repeatedly. I once made a cage so tight the stems wouldn't even go in, had to basically use a hammer to get the roses in there. Total mess but at least it didn't dissolve into soup.
