DAE think we're overusing eucalyptus in wedding work?

I did a wedding in Charleston last weekend where the bride wanted 'airy and light' but the planner kept pushing silver dollar eucalyptus into everything. It ended up looking heavy and dark, not airy at all. I see this all the time now, eucalyptus as a default filler even when it doesn't fit the vibe. Has anyone else had to push back on this trend with clients or other vendors?

Heard a florist say eucalyptus is the lazy man's filler now. How do you even argue with a planner who treats it like a magic wand?

Totally feel this, had a similar clash over seeded eucalyptus for a beach wedding. It just looked messy and out of place instead of breezy. How do you usually talk a planner down from that ledge?

Ugh, seeded eucalyptus at the beach is such a specific pain. It gets all limp and tangled in the wind, and those little pods end up in the sand. I usually point out how silver dollar eucalyptus holds up better, or even some local grasses that actually look coastal. Showing them a photo of the wilted mess from a past event can really help.
