Remembering my first roll of expired film
Three years ago in my old apartment, I shot a roll of Kodak Gold from 2005. The colors came out super muted and grainy, but I loved it. Anyone else get weirdly attached to their first expired roll results?

Hated my first expired roll honestly. Got some weird green tint on all my shots and it just looked like a mistake.

Actually the green tint is a pretty normal thing with old color film. It happens when the color layers break down over time. Some people even like that look once they know what to expect. I've got a few rolls in my fridge that I hope turn out just like that.

That muted look from old film is really something special. My first expired roll was a mess of weird colors too, but I learned to lean into it. Shooting in bright, even light seemed to help control the chaos a bit. Now I kinda hope for those unexpected shifts, it makes each roll a surprise.
