Just realized I've been setting posts wrong for years because of one stubborn habit.

I was helping my cousin in Omaha reset a section of his privacy fence that had leaned, and he pointed out I was still using the old 'eyeball it' method for plumb instead of checking with a level on two adjacent sides. That moment in his muddy backyard totally flipped a switch for me. Do you think sticking with a fast, familiar method is ever worth the risk of a sloppy finish?

That "fast, familiar method" thing is so real. It's not just about speed, it's about mental energy. My brain would rather do the quick, wrong thing I know than the slower, right thing that feels like a chore. But you end up using way more energy later fixing the lean or the wobble. It's like paying interest on a debt of laziness.

Ever try the "just five minutes" trick? Tell yourself you'll only do the proper method for five minutes, then you can go back to the old way. Usually, once you start the right way, you just keep going because it's not as bad as you thought. It breaks that initial mental block.
