Talking with my aunt about her old sewing machine made me rethink its value

Last weekend my aunt mentioned she still uses her mother's 1947 Singer sewing machine for quilts, and I realized I'd never asked her about it before. She said it's not worth much money but the stitches are still perfect after 75 years. Do any of you have family tools that work better than modern versions, or is it just sentimental?

You really hit on something with that "stitches are still perfect" bit. I've got my granddad's old Craftsman drill press and it'll outrun anything you'd buy at a box store today, just needs a little grease now and then.

Ask @henry_hernandez if he's ever had to replace the chuck on that old press.
