Grandma's old cast iron pan looked like garbage but I was totally wrong about it
I almost tossed my grandmother's rusty cast iron skillet until I spent 30 minutes scrubbing it with salt and oil and it turned out perfectly non-stick, way better than my $80 fancy pan. Anybody else have an heirloom they almost threw away that turned out to be gold?

Bought my grandpa's old hand plane from his estate sale without even wiping it down first lol. Ugliest thing you ever saw, rust all over the blade and the wood handle was cracked. Spent an afternoon sharpening the blade and oiling the handle and now it cuts better than my expensive modern one. It's crazy how much quality stuff they made back then that looks like junk but works perfectly. Glad you saved that pan, those old cast irons are basically indestructible once you treat them right.

Buddy of mine found an old table saw at a garage sale that works better than anything at Home Depot.
