Serious question, has anyone else had a client react badly to a gentle peel?
I was doing a glycolic acid peel on a regular client at my studio in Denver, using the same 30% solution I always do. Halfway through, she started crying and said it felt like her face was on fire, which had never happened before. I stopped right away, neutralized it, and found out she'd started using a strong retinol cream a few days prior without telling me. It took a full 20 minutes of cool compresses to calm her skin down. How do you guys handle intake forms to really catch stuff like new products clients forget to mention?
Yeah, that "forget to mention a new retinol" thing @finley_lee is exactly why I changed my forms. I have a big bold line right above the signature now that says "List ALL active products used in the last 7 days." I read it out loud to them while they're filling it out. Catches a lot of stuff they just blank on.
