A client's facial steam surprise made my day
She jumped when the mist came on, thinking it was a surprise spray. We had a good laugh and she loved the treatment after. Now she tells all her friends about it.

Yeah that moment of surprise can actually work in your favor if you handle it right (I've found). I always make a little joke right after, like "gotcha" or "the machine's awake now", which turns the jump into a shared laugh. It breaks the ice completely and makes the whole thing feel more personal, not just some routine service. That little human moment is what they remember, way more than any fancy product you might use.

Hah, that’s brilliant... I can just picture the full body flinch. Bet she thought you were pulling some hidden camera prank or maybe hitting her with a squirt bottle like a misbehaving cat. Nothing like a tiny jump scare to really cement the spa experience... glad she ended up loving it though, and now you’ve got a walking commercial.
