A client told me my brow mapping was making her look angry... she was right

I had this regular who kept saying she felt like her brows looked "mean" no matter what I did. Brush, tint, wax, all of it. I finally asked her to show me what she meant and she took a photo and pointed out the arch was too sharp on the inner corner. I used to map by the nose bridge standard but her nose is kind of straight and wide so the usual angle was off. Changed it to a softer start point and now she actually smiles when she sees the mirror. Anyone else had to adjust their mapping based on face shape instead of just the rule book?

My friend who does brows told me she had the same problem with a client who had a really high forehead and deep set eyes. She kept making the arch too dramatic because that's what she learned in class, but it made the client look constantly surprised. Once she flattened out the start point and softened the curve, the client finally said "these actually look like me.

That thing about the "nose bridge standard" really got me because I was doing the same mistake. I had a client with a really flat bridge and I kept trying to line up the inner brow with the side of her nose like I was taught, but it made the gap way too wide and the brows looked confused. I finally just ignored the nose entirely and mapped based on the center of her eye instead, moving the start point in just a little. Now her whole face looks balanced and she books every single month without fail.
