My apprentice finally understood parallel circuits today
We've been going over it for weeks, and it just clicked for him during a real job. Seeing that lightbulb moment made all the repetition worth it.

What was the specific part of the job that made it click for him? Was it tracing the wiring on an actual panel, or testing voltage and seeing how the branches worked live? Always cool when the real-world application locks in the classroom stuff.

Sometimes it's not just the wiring or voltage readings that make it click. @haydenburns hit on the testing part, but for my guy, seeing how one burned-out bulb didn't kill the whole string of lights was the real eye-opener. That real-world fail-safe example showed him why parallel matters beyond the textbook. He finally got why we use it in homes so a single fault doesn't black out everything. That kind of practical reliability sinks in deeper than any diagram.

Wait, he seriously never noticed that about Christmas lights before? That's wild. I guess some people just don't pay attention until it's pointed out, like @haydenburns said about the real world application. It's so basic once you see it, but it really is the perfect example of why parallel circuits are so important. Makes you wonder what other everyday things we totally take for granted.
