Always thought the Edmonton Chat forum was just for old timers

I was sure it was just people talking about road work and the weather. Then I saw a post about a free concert at the Ice District last Friday. Went because of it and had a blast. The thread had the exact set times and where to park. Totally changed my view. What's the best local event you've found through here?

Okay calling us old timers is fair, my last great find on here was a garage sale with a working VCR. But seriously, that Ice District tip is gold. This forum somehow knew about a pop-up dog cafe in Ritchie before my own neighbors. The best was a thread that led me to a tiny free folk music thing in someone's backyard last summer, complete with directions to avoid the squeaky gate.

What kind of first edition was it? My cousin found a beat-up Stephen King paperback in a church basement sale last year, said it smelled like old incense but he got it for a dollar. Those hidden sales are the BEST.
