Found a 1950s cookbook that says to put Jell-O in everything
I picked up this old "Cook with Color" book at a library sale for $0.50 and it has recipes for Jell-O meatloaf and Jell-O coleslaw. Has anyone else run into a cookbook from that era that treats Jell-O like a secret weapon for every dish?

My grandma had a similar one from 1954 that suggested lime Jell-O in tuna salad. I tried it once and it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't call it a secret weapon either.

Wait til you factor in what a lime Jell-O would have done to the texture of that tuna salad after a few hours in the fridge. I bet it turned into this weird gelatinous nightmare where you've got chunks of fish suspended in green slime. Like, I get that people were into weird presentation back then but nobody talks about how the Jell-O would break down and get all weepy if you didn't eat it fast enough. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the whole "salad" part gets lost when you're basically eating lime flavored canned fish jiggly blocks.
