Old timer in Houma told me to run a higher viscosity hydraulic oil during the summer months
I switched to ISO 68 like he said and my pump temps dropped by 15 degrees on that hot Louisiana afternoon. Has anyone else tried bumping up their oil weight for the summer heat?

Pump temps dropped by 15 degrees" is a solid result. I've noticed that same kind of small tweak making things run smoother in a lot of different machines, not just pumps.

Man that makes total sense. It's like how your truck runs better on thinner oil in the winter but thicker stuff in the summer, same principle just applied to different machines.
