Just realized a lot of guys swear by the old manual winch for line tension, but I had a foreman in Tampa tell me it's a waste of time.
He said, 'If you're not using a hydraulic tensioner, you're just making the job harder on yourself,' and I've found he's right. Anyone else switch from manual to hydraulic and see a real difference in setup speed?

That "waste of time" comment, was he talking about safety or just pure speed?

Maybe he meant the time spent arguing about it is the real waste.
