Showerthought: my Tuesday tiling job turned into a 14 hour mess because I mixed thin set wrong
I was laying 12x24 tile in my upstairs bath last Tuesday and thought I could eyeball the water ratio, then the thin set started setting up in the bucket after 20 minutes and I lost half a bag. I ended up scraping dried chunks off 6 tiles with a margin trowel at 11pm while my wife kept asking when the water would be back on. Does anyone have a mixing routine that actually works, or do I just need to buy a $40 paddle mixer and stop being cheap?
