PVA glue ruined two rebinds before I found the wallpaper paste trick
I was rescuing a 1960s scifi paperback in Minneapolis, the cover was hanging on by memory. First two tries with PVA warped the boards so bad they looked like potato chips. Swapped to a heavy duty wallpaper paste from the hardware store, $8 a tub, and brushed it on thin with a foam roller. It gave me 15 extra minutes of working time and the boards stayed flat. Anyone else using oddball adhesives for book board, or am I the only one who raided the paint aisle?
