My glued ribbon bookmark ruined the spine after 3 weeks
I attached a ribbon to the spine of a paperback using hot glue, thinking it would be a neat marker. Three weeks later the glue dried out, cracked, and the ribbon pulled a chunk of the spine paper right off. Now there's an ugly rough patch and the pages near it feel loose. I ended up cutting the ribbon flush and using a strip of washi tape over the damage, which looks okay but I'm still annoyed. Has anyone found a glue that actually flexes with the spine over time?

I ruined a whole vintage paperback that way, tried fabric glue after that and it just soaked through and made the pages stick together... honestly washi tape is probably the smarter move, Ive just started using those little metal page clips instead.
