inShoutout to the old plotter that finally died on me last Wednesday
That thing surviving a coffee spill is wild. You see it everywhere though, not just with old plotters. Some stuff just refuses to quit until it literally can't anymore. Like my grandpa's old Kenmore fridge from the 70s outlasted three dishwashers and two washing machines before the compressor finally gave out. Meanwhile, my friend's brand new smart fridge died within two years from a software glitch they couldn't fix. It's like the older stuff gets built with a different kind of stubbornness.

inTIL I was cleaning my chimney wrong for 10 years
Do you think it's because they're not in the weeds every day, or because they've just got a different perspective on what the actual goal is? Like, I've had bosses who'd walk by and instantly see something we'd been staring at for three hours. But then sometimes they'd suggest something that would totally break the workflow for the customer, you know what I mean?

inMy bread proofing box was 10 degrees off for 6 months
Man that "borrowed a friend's thermometer" part really hits home... I had a similar thing with my oven thermometer, trusted it for like a year before I realized the glass was fogged up and it was reading 25 degrees low. Everything I baked came out either raw in the middle or burnt on the bottom, kept blaming my starter and flour. Ended up spending more on fancy ingredients than a new thermometer would've cost... feels like you get so focused on the recipe that you forget the tools could be the ones lying to you.

inShoutout to the old timer who showed me the zip tie trick for stubborn O-rings
Used to feel that way too, but seeing how little servers actually make changed my mind.

inVent: My friend in Denver thought her 'password123' was fine because she had two-factor on
Honestly, this is just how most people handle tech stuff now. They get one piece of security advice and treat it like a magic shield. Tbh, I see it with my family all the time, where they think the virus scanner does everything. Getting someone to actually use a password manager feels like convincing them to change a daily habit, which is nearly impossible. Ngl, the only time people listen is after something actually goes wrong, which is a terrible way to learn.
