Vent: Someone told me my 'work from anywhere' setup was actually holding me back
Honestly, a guy in Chiang Mai last month said my insistence on a perfect cafe with fast wifi and power was making me miss the whole point. I switched to just a hotspot and a battery pack, and I've worked from beaches and parks for the last two weeks. Anyone else get called out for being too rigid with their routine?

Understand where that guy was coming from, but a reliable setup isn't about being rigid. For some types of work, you really do need that stable connection and a proper place to focus. Missing a deadline because your hotspot dropped at the beach sounds a lot worse than missing a sunset from a cafe. The point is to get your work done well, not just anywhere.

Ugh, I totally get that. It's so easy to get stuck on having the perfect spot and forget the whole freedom part. That guy had a point, even if it stung a bit. My own routine was making me anxious about finding the right table more than actually doing the work. Letting go of some control really can open up better places.
