He told me the 4th floor router dies every day at 3pm, and sure enough my uploads crawled right on schedule. I moved to a coworking spot for $8 a day and got a week of client work done in 3 days, anyone else rely on random local tips over online guides?

idk, that tip probably saved you more than just time since hostel wifi often pegs you into shared IPs that trash your client uploads anyway.
