PSA: That $190 'nomad visa help' service in Canggu just retyped the government form for me
Dropped 190 bucks on a visa agent in Canggu, Bali, thinking they had some inside track on the digital nomad permit, and all they did was fill out the same online form I could have done myself for free. The whole thing took them 20 minutes and I got zero extra help when immigration asked me follow up questions, I had to answer those on my own. If you are in Bali and someone quotes you more than $50 for visa paperwork, walk away and just read the official site, it is all in English now. Has anyone found an agent there who actually earns the fee, or is the whole thing a scam?

Plenty of agents there actually do earn their fee, but not the ones hanging around Canggu cafes chasing tourists. The good ones handle sponsor letters, extensions, and show up at immigration WITH you, so yeah you got overcharged for a typing service.
