A guy running a hostel in Medellin told me my "work hours" were all wrong and it's been bugging me for 3 weeks
Met this guy named Andres at a hostel in Medellin back in March who has been working remote for 9 years, and he said something that stuck with me. He asked what time I usually work, and I said 9 to 5 like always, and he just laughed and said "that's not your time zone, that's your old boss's time zone." He works 6am to 11am and then again 7pm to 9pm, mostly because his clients are spread between Berlin and LA, and he said he stopped feeling guilty about the gaps in between. I've been trying his schedule for 3 weeks now in Oaxaca and honestly my afternoons are way better, I actually go outside and explore instead of staring at my laptop in a cafe. The weird part is I think I get more done now than when I was forcing 8 straight hours. Has anyone else restructured their day around clients instead of just keeping their old office hours out of habit?
