Showerthought: I gave up on clipping masks until a streamer in Dallas showed me his layer trick
I used to build every shadow by hand because clipping masks kept eating my linework on a 12 layer piece. Last month I watched a guy on Twitch (some small channel, maybe 40 viewers) nest his masks inside groups first, and it fixed the whole mess in like 5 clicks. Has anyone else switched to grouped masks, or do you just keep everything flat and suffer like I did?
Man, nested mask groups changed my whole workflow too! I picked it up from a random YouTube short last year where the guy put each body part in its own folder before masking, so when I clip a shadow it only grabs that one section and my lines stay safe. My layers got way more organized after that since I'm basically forced to sort stuff as I go. Still keep a flat copy at the end just in case something weird happens though.
