I used to hate art station's trending page until I saw the color grading

For months I thought the trending page on Art Station was just popular because of fan art of big characters. Then I took a closer look at a piece by an artist named Loish and realized how much work goes into the color choices. The way she blends warm and cool tones in one face makes the whole thing pop. Now I check that page every day to study how pros handle shadows and highlights. I was wrong to dismiss it as just hype. Has anyone else had a moment where a specific artist's technique completely changed how you look at digital art?
