Hit 5000 followers on my art account this morning

I wasn't even tracking it, just logged in to post a sketch and saw the number. Anybody else have a milestone sneak up on them like that?

Oh damn, 5000 is a nice solid number. That's wild that you weren't even aware you were that close. I'm always checking my analytics like a weirdo so I never get that surprise. Was it a random retweet or a single post that pushed you over the edge, or just slow and steady growth? I'm curious what kind of art you do too, like digital painting or character design or something else.

Just slow and steady growth" - I mean, it was mostly slow and steady, yeah. But honestly the weird part is I went from 4800 to 5000 in like two days. I think one of my older pieces got shared in some random Discord server or something, because there was a sudden spike in follows from people with anime profile pics. I don't really make anime stuff though. I mostly do weird landscapes with muted colors. Like abandoned buildings in foggy fields. Nothing that usually gets a ton of traction. So it caught me off guard.
