Had a chat with a gallery owner that flipped my thinking on low-res art

I ran into Jen from the local indie gallery downtown, and she straight up told me she'd rather show pixel art than another hyper-detailed fantasy landscape. She said the rough edges force people to fill in the blanks themselves. Now I'm going back to my old 8-bit style for a new series, anyone else feel like sharing unfinished work is actually harder?

Does that mean you're actually holding back some detail on purpose now, or is it more about committing to the rough shapes from the start?
