My 2003 Rio Karma died on the same day I found the music backup
After 5 years of sitting in a drawer, that old Rio Karma finally gave up. But that same afternoon I dug out a shoebox with a 200GB hard drive from 2011 that had every song I ever ripped from CDs. The battery on the player was toast and the replacement kit I ordered off eBay showed up with the wrong ribbon cable. I ended up using a $5 SD card reader and VLC on my laptop just to hear my old mix for the first time in years. Anyone else keep a dead player around longer than the music files that were on it?
