I saw a picture of it on a local history blog, and apparently they removed it because the maintenance costs were over $15k a year. Anyone know of other malls that had weird, expensive attractions like that?
Remember the giant aquarium in the Mall of America? That always seemed like a huge money pit to me. They had sharks and everything. I read they got rid of it because, surprise, it cost a fortune to run. Malls used to try anything to get people in the door, even stuff that made no financial sense. Now they can't even keep the lights on in a Sears.
