Hit 50 dead malls on my list and the last 10 all had the same structural issue

After checking the roof at the old Tri-County Galleria, I realized every mall built in that late 80s rush used the same cheap composite decking that's now failing in identical, dangerous patterns.

That explains the indoor rainstorms I saw at the Westgate Mall last year. I was trying to find a bathroom and ended on the wrong side of a caution tape waterfall.

I always thought those mall sprinkler stories were fake until the roof leaked at the Greenview Center food court. They had five buckets catching water right by the pretzel stand. Changed my mind fast.
