Got chased out of the Meriden Square Mall by security when I was just taking photos

I was at the old Meriden Square in Connecticut last Saturday, just snapping pics of the dead food court with the fountains still running. Some rent-a-cop came out of nowhere and said I was trespassing even though the mall was technically still open with like 3 stores. Has anyone else had security go ballistic on them at a dying mall that's clearly on its last legs?

Oh man, I used to roll my eyes at people getting mad about mall security (like, it's their job right?). But then I got the boot from the Crystal Mall in Waterford last month for taking a picture of that weird old arcade area that's been closed for years. The place had maybe five shoppers in it and the security guard followed me for ten minutes before telling me to leave, which felt kinda ridiculous for a building that's basically a ghost town. It changed my mind pretty fast, security at these dead malls seems way more aggressive than at the busy ones for some reason.
