A hotel front desk guy in Reno typed my room number into a fake site, now I use a burner email for everything
Stayed at a place near the airport in Reno for a work trip 3 weeks ago and the guy checking me in asked for my email to send the receipt, then typed it straight into some random page that was not the hotel's site. I watched the address bar and it was a sketchy lookalike domain, so I told him to stop and asked for a printed copy instead. Has anyone else run into hotels or rental spots pulling this, and do you just hand over a junk email every time now?
